Today was Chase's P.A.T. evaluation (he has 2 more left for the school year). The focus today was vocabulary. Once again, he is ahead of the curve. They had series of words that should be mastered at age 2,3,4,5 & 6 years of age. They would have a word such as "sweet" and the "sw" would be underlined. That meant that he had to pronounce that part of the word perfectly. The point being that different letter combinations are difficult to pronounce at certain ages. Anyway, they expected him to get 13 correct. He got 29 out of 37 correct. It is actually cute when he says things incorrectly, like for "zoo" he says "voo." The Denver screen also had questions for him like, "what do you do if your cold?" or they would show him 3 pictures and he'd have to name which one was the heaviest etc.
So, once again our educator is encouraging us to seriously consider preschool for Chase in the fall. This is just SO sad for Brad & I to even discuss. He just seems to young. But, the educator is worried that because he is a little more ahead for his age and LOVES to learn that he will get bored at home and consequently we might see behavior issues and so on. So, there is definitely some truth in all that and so we may start checking out different places that he could attend possibly one or two 1/2 days a week.
Anyway, here are two photos from the fall that didn't get posted . . . (the first one is similar to our Christmas card that everyone should have by now!)

yes! we got your christmas card. the photos are beautiful. glad to have them on my refrigerator.
I always did wonder why people sent their kids to preschool so early! That seems like a worthwhile reason to consider doing so (and an argument I've not heard before). Maybe checking out the options will bring clarity on whether it's right for Chase and for you.
