{emme's hemangioma}
I'm hoping you can "click" to enlarge this photo otherwise you won't be able to see the update. Anyhow . . . a couple of Sunday's ago Emme's nursery workers said, "we really think that Emme's hemangioma has gotten smaller." Well, it's the kind of thing that if you see her everyday (like Brad & I) you don't really notice and if you see only occasionally you probably couldn't tell because it still looks like a red dot to you. But if you see her regularly (like every week at the nursery), you might notice . . . does that make any sense??? Anyway, we looked back at photos and sure enough it used to be a complete, almost perfect circle and now the top left side has come in and also slightly on the top right side. In addition when you enlarge the photo you can see all along the left side where it almost looks like red dots now. This is because the pigment of her skin in coming through and "breaking up" where it once was solid red. At the top left where the red has faded you cannot even tell it was ever there . . .so wild! It's interesting to see it change. As crazy as it sounds, Brad & I have said we will actually be a little sad when it is gone because it is such a part of her. It's like her special mark that God gave her.
The other night in the bath Chase reached over and started trying to wipe it off. Brad said, "chase, what are you doing?" Chase replied "I'm just helping emme, I'm getting that thing off." We can't ever remember the last time he said anything about it because again, to him, that's just a part of emme. OK, enough rambling . . that's the update! :)

Melanie & Brad,

I think I may have mentioned it before, but Jacob had a hemangioma like Emme's. His was at the bottom of his lower lip. His also faded. Now there only a few pin prick size red dots-not even noticeable. It doesn't matter though. They are just a part of these beautiful little ones. Love your cupcake cones. We had a Valentine party last night with David, Em, Gracie, Jack and Jacob. Jack and Jacob are staying with us tonight. Gracie is in Wisconsin. They are so much fun. Happy Valentines Day!

Love, Aunt Mary
